Demand for hard seltzers bubbling away

Lower in calories than beer, this alcoholic canned drink looks set to catch on here

It is now well into Dry January, but if you are not ready to go fully alcohol-free yet, you may want to consider hard seltzers.

In its simplest form, the trending beverage is alcoholic carbonated water, which is lower in both calories and carbohydrates than beer and wine. Many brands add fruit flavours to their hard seltzers and, like a light, easy-drinking beer, its alcohol by volume (ABV) is 4 to 6 per cent.
