Jermyn Chow

Jermyn started his reporting journey with The Straits Times digital media unit in 2006 as part of the paper's pioneer multimedia reporting team that produced news videos and radio news bulletins. In 2008, he moved to the paper's News Desk, where he covered defence, transport and consumer issues. He has also covered Singapore's General Elections since 2006.
As the defence correspondent, he was in charge of tracking Singapore's defence diplomacy, military modernisation and National Service. He has run, sailed and flown with combat troops in order to file stories in text, photos and videos. His assignments have taken him to the United States, China, Australia, Indonesia, the Gulf of Aden and the South China Sea. When he isn't busy chasing stories, he watches the world go by and swops stories with people in a cafe or restaurant.
