Participants in this year's The Straits Times Run will be seeing black and blue come Sept 23. But worry not, there will not be any bruising involved. Those are just the colours of the running vests and finishers' T-shirts.
For the second consecutive year, the black finishers' T-shirt will come in two designs - one for those in the 18.45km race, and another for those in the 5km and 10km categories. The ST Run race vest will be in blue. Each T-shirt is worth $49.
Both pieces of clothing feature New Balance's fast-drying NB Dry technology that offers superior ventilation and wicks moisture away quickly.
"This stylish shirt is perfect for your regular runs, is gym-ready and good-looking enough for casual wear," said Mr Eugene Yeo, New Balance's country manager for Singapore.
"The main thing I liked about the race vest and finisher's T-shirt from last year was the fit, which was really good. New Balance is a good brand and the clothes we got were comfortable. I have worn both a few times since last year's race," said tax associate Tan Yong Kian, 25.
This year's ST Run will be its sixth edition, and will return to the Singapore Sports Hub.

Mr Yeo said: "NB has been the proud apparel sponsor right from the start, at the inaugural ST Run in 2013.
"We have grown together positively and are excited to see ST Run cement its place in the local running calendar to become a key race annually."
This year's ST Run comprises three categories - 5km, 10km and 18.45km. Registration is $50, $60 and $70, respectively. Past participants enjoy a loyal runner rate and need to pay only $38, $48 and $58, respectively.
