Sazali has been a journalist since 2006, covering mainly sport. He covered the Olympic Games in Tokyo and the World Cup in Qatar, and was named Sports Journalist of the Year at the Singapore Sports Awards in 2019. He counts among his highlights meeting his hero Peter Schmeichel, making Jose Mourinho smile and blacking out while training with discus king James Wong. Sazali has been assistant editor at The Straits Times’ ST Now desk since March 2023.
