SINGAPORE - Five new bus services will augment feeder buses during the peak in four towns as part of an ongoing exercise.
These "Peak Period Short Services" (PPSS) will begin operations as follows:
* Dec 30: Service 285P in Clementi;
* Jan 6: Service 265P in Ang Mo Kio;
* Jan 13: Service 903P in Woodlands;
* Jan 20: Services 811P and 812P in Yishun.
These five PPSS will help existing feeder services 285, 265, 903, 811 and 812 to connect residents to nearby bus interchanges or MRT stations. With these, a total of 14 PPSS would have been implemented.
The new services will operate at least five trips per hour during morning and evening peak periods, excluding public holidays. More trips may be added if demand rises, the Land Transport Authority said on Tuesday.
Bus-Plus Services will operate four of the services (285P, 265P, 811P and 812P).
Service 285P starts from Clementi Bus Interchange. It will ply Clementi Avenue 3, Clementi Avenue 2, and loop at West Coast Road before returning to Clementi bus interchange. The service will operate from 6am to 8am on weekday mornings and from 5.15pm to 7.15pm on weekday evenings.
Service 265P starts from Ang Mo Kio bus interchange and will ply Ang Mo Kio Avenue 8, Ang Mo Kio Avenue 5, Ang Mo Kio Street 53, Ang Mo Kio Street 52, Ang Mo Kio Avenue 10 and Ang Mo Kio Street 54 before making its way back to the interchange. It will operate from 6am to 8am on weekday mornings and from 5pm to 7pm on weekday evenings.
Service 811P starts from Yishun bus interchange and will ply Yishun Avenue 2, Yishun Avenue 3, Yishun Ring Road, Yishun Avenue 4, Yishun Street 81 before looping at Yishun Avenue 1 and heading back to the interchange. It will operate from 6am to 8am on weekday mornings and from 6pm to 8pm on weekday evenings.
Service 812P starts from Yishun bus interchange and ply Yishun Avenue 2 and Yishun Ring Road before looping at Yishun Avenue 2 and 3 and heading back to the interchange. It will operate from 6.15am to 8.15am on weekday mornings and from 5.15pm to 7.15pm on weekday evenings.
Rui Feng Chartered will be operating Service 903P, which starts from Woodlands bus interchange and ply Woodlands Avenue 2, Riverside Road, Marsiling Road, Marsiling Lane and Marsiling Drive before heading back to the interchange. It will operate from 6am to 8am on weekday mornings and from 5.30pm to 8pm on weekday evenings.
