BAD ISCHL, Austria – This town located in the Austrian alps has been a summer getaway for kings, courtiers and the bohemian set for more than 200 years.

Even in the dead of winter, when I visit in late January, the town is a picturesque Instagram magnet. There is a cobblestoned main shopping street, an elegant riverside promenade and wedding cake-like buildings dating back to the 19th century.
