Who: Lim Teck Koon, 47, director in a French pharmaceutical company.

My family: Married to Liu I-Chun, a housewife and church volunteer, 45. Our beloved cat of 18 years recently died.

My home: A condominium in Taipei.

My passions: Reading, travelling and attending concerts.

I first started writing to the Forum page in...: 1999.

What I write about: I have written on a broad range of topics, such as the stigmatisation of mental health patients, tobacco control, social support for the needy, financial product promotion as well as township and community development.

Why I write: It is my way of contributing to society through the sharing of ideas and, in doing so, making things better.

I read the Forum Page because...: I can learn about the concerns of my fellow countrymen.

My wish for Singapore: That it will continue to be viable, open and vibrant.
