2 killed, 3 missing as 3,000 flee Java floods

JAKARTA • Floods hitting Indonesia's West Java province has killed two people, left three others missing and forced more than 3,000 others to flee their homes, an official said yesterday. The floods started on Saturday, following days of heavy downpours in Bandung district.

N. Korea denies cyber attacks on South

SEOUL • North Korea has denied conducting cyber attacks in South Korea, calling the South's accusation a "fabrication".

South Korea's spy agency told lawmakers on Friday that North Korea had recently stepped up cyber attack efforts and succeeded in hacking the mobile phones of 40 national security officials.

Man dies after choking during eating contest

JAKARTA • A chicken wing eating contest took the life of a 45-year-old man after he choked on his third piece during the contest in West Jakarta on Friday.

The man tried drinking a glass of water, but failed to dislodge the morsel.
