LONDON – The end was spectacular but hardly surprising.

Almost two months to the day since he dared mount an armed rebellion against the Russian government, Mr Yevgeny Prigozhin died when one of his private planes crashed during a flight between Moscow and St Petersburg, Russia’s second-largest city.
