SINGAPORE - Tampines Rovers midfielder Hafiz Sujad is the only local among four players up for the S-League's Player of the Year Award.

The list of nominees were announced on Thursday (Oct 27). The others are forward Atsushi Kawata from champions Albirex Niigata; playmaker Fumiya Kogure from Hougang United, who won last year when he was with the Japanese side; and Danish striker Ken Ilso from Home United.

Ten other prizes will be presented at the S-League Awards Night at Marina Bay Sands on Nov 1 to honour this year's top performers. They include Goal of the Year, Story of the Year, Photo of the Year, Top Scorer, Referee and Assistant Referee of the Year, as well as Coach and Young Player of the Year.

Straits Times journalist Chua Siang Yee's report "Pennant Looking To Start Over In S'pore", on Jan 10 on former English Premier League player Jermaine Pennant arriving for trials with Tampines, is among four nominations for Story of the Year.
