SINGAPORE - Some 3,500 participants including Fox Sports presenter Kelly Latimer, S-League footballer Fabien Kwok and local football icon Aleksander Duric were tested to their limits in the Men's Health Urbanathlon (MHU) on Sunday.

The seventh edition of the 14km obstacle race is the first in Singapore to incorporate a CrossFit element.

Termed "Metcon Madness", this obstacle required participants to execute workouts such as box jumps, alternate lunge jumps, overhead squats, sandbell overhead swings and wall throws in order to overcome it.

This year's competition was won by New Zealander Jason Lawrence, 35, in a time of 58 min 1 sec. He walked home with over $11,000 worth of prizes.

Six of Singapore's leading radio personalities - Glenn Ong, Cheryl Miles, Elliot Danker, Harry Corro, Andre Hoeden and Shaun Topaz - also took part in the race.

In the final obstacle just before the finish line, it featured a thrilling zip-line flight into a pool of water which ensured that the runners enjoyed a refreshing end to the race.

The race was organised by SPH Magazines, and presented by Scoot and Tigerair.
