SINGAPORE - National bowler Shayna Ng was the biggest winner of the night at the Singapore Bowling Federation (SBF)'s annual awards ceremony on Friday night.

The kegler was crowned Bowler of the Year, and was also given a nod for Outstanding Achievement, for winning the World Women's Bowling Championship last December.

Joey Yeo, 18, who won the World Bowling Open last year, was named Youth Bowler of the Year.

The SBF also named Francis Yeo as its new acting national head coach. Yeo, the national deputy head coach since 2014, has been overseeing bowler development. He takes over a seat that was left vacant after former national bowler Remy Ong stepped down at the end of last year.

Said Jessie Phua, president of SBF: "I'm both happy and proud that Francis has agreed to take on this heavy responsibility of leading our team. It's an awesome team that he will lead, expectations are high and I'm confident that Francis will bring our team to new heights."
