SINGAPORE - The Land Transport Authority (LTA) will use an online auction system to sell off unwanted vehicles, joining other Government agencies such as Singapore Customs which are already doing so.

Through the sgCarMart Quotz platform, bidders can make their offers from their homes or offices.

In total, LTA and Singapore Customs will auction off about 140 to 220 vehicles every quarter, consisting mainly of confiscated and forfeited vehicles, sgCarMart Quotz said on Tuesday.

While often targeted at motor and scrap traders, these auctions will also be open to the public, subject to terms and conditions.
