Commuters can take a Hari Raya Puasa-themed train ride this festive season. Dr Yaacob Ibrahim, Minister for Communications and Information, and Minister-in-charge of Muslim Affairs, launched two such trains yesterday. It is the first time that MRT trains have been decorated for the Muslim festival, which falls on Sunday. The collaboration between the Land Transport Authority, SMRT and SBS Transit features trains with ketupat and festive light decals on the windows, and traditional motifs on the carriage floor. Assistant station manager Haslinda Kassan, 52, said: "(The carriage floor) reminds me of the carpet I have, and makes me feel at home." One train will travel on the East-West and North-South Line, and the other on the North-East Line. Both trains will run until July 19.
