Minister for Foreign Affairs and Minister for Law Mr K Shanmugam will attend the Asean Foreign Ministers Meeting Retreat in Bagan, Myanmar on 17 January 2014.

At the Retreat, the Foreign Ministers will take stock of Asean's Community-building efforts, according to a statement from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

They will also follow up on the outcomes of the 23rd Asean and Related Summits, which were held in Bandar Seri Begawan in Brunei Darussalam in October last year.

The Foreign Ministers will also exchange views on regional and international issues, the MFA statement added.
