The former Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA) protocol chief accused of falsifying expense claims, plans to plead guilty to charges.

Lim Cheng Hoe, who faces 60 counts of cheating the ministry of almost $89,000, indicated through his lawyers that he will plead guilty at a pre-trial conference on Thursday.

Deputy Public Prosecutor Kelvin Kow told reporters after the hearing that a plea mention - for Lim to plead guilty - has been fixed for Feb 17. Details of the prosecution's offer are expected by the next pre-trial conference on Jan 29.

Lim, 60, allegedly submitted false expense claims for pineapple tarts and wine between February 2008 and May 2012. He is represented by Mr Philip Fong and Mr Nicklaus Tan from Harry Elias Partnership.
