SINGAPORE - Air quality will continue to be in the moderate range on Saturday (Oct 31), the National Environment Agency (NEA) said in its daily haze update on Friday.

But for those planning outdoor activities, thundery showers are expected in the afternoon.

The 24-hour Pollutant Standards Index (PSI) was in the moderate range on Friday. This was the third day of blue skies in Singapore, after more than a month of hazy conditions.

At 6pm on Friday, the 24-hour PSI was 52-57, in the moderate (51-100) range.

Showers in the region have helped to ease the haze situation in Sumatra and Kalimantan, NEA said. However, some haze was still observed over parts of southern Sumatra.

On Saturday, the prevailing winds are forecast to be weak and to blow from the north-east or east.
