"I remember, when I was a little girl, father sitting me on his knee at home in Corbridge when he returned from work. 'Tell me, Ann, was the world a better place today for having you in it?' he'd ask. I would have to think hard for a good deed I may have done, such as picking up a classmate's pencil that had fallen off her desk. It was a wonderful message to instil in a child."

Ann Wee tells me this on the evening of Dec 10, 2019.
