Four men arrested for alleged housebreaking and theft by night

SINGAPORE - Four men, aged between 28 and 37, were arrested on Tuesday (June 26) for their suspected involvement in a series of housebreaking and theft by night cases, said the police in a statement on Wednesday.

The police received a report on May 29, alleging that home appliances had been stolen from a unit at Blk 362A Sembawang Crescent.

Through investigations, officers from Ang Mo Kio Police Division established the identities of the men and arrested them.

Preliminary investigations revealed that the men are also believed to be involved in other similar cases.

One of the men, a 33-year-old, will be charged in court on Thursday with housebreaking and theft by night. If convicted, he faces a jail term of between two and 14 years, and a fine.

Investigations against the three other men are ongoing, said the police.
