Philippine President Rodrigo Duterte declared Marawi liberated from terrorists’ influence on Tuesday (Oct 17). However, a five-month battle against pro-Islamic States in Iraq and Syria (ISIS) militants has destroyed the country's southern city, which will have to begin its rehabilitation and reconstruction. The 148-day conflict claimed more than 1,000 lives and displaced over 200,000 Marawi residents.
