Last September, luxury watchmaker Audemars Piguet (AP) invited me to its headquarters in the picturesque village of Le Brassus in Vallee de Joux, Switzerland.

But before the trip, I had to sign a non-disclosure agreement: I could not breathe a word of why I was there and what I was shown.
