LOS ANGELES - Critics have mocked him for being too sentimental, but writer-director Dan Fogelman - creator of the weepy family drama This Is Us (2016 to present) - makes no bones about wanting to get emotional with his stories, which usually deal with love and loss.

And he takes that to the big screen with his new film Life Itself, which opens in Singapore on Dec 6.
