Perry may get to live in convent

Singer Katy Perry cannot close her proposed deal to buy a former convent anytime soon, but may be able to rent it. At a Thursday hearing in Los Angeles, a judge tentatively blocked the sale of the convent, valued at US$15 million (S$20.6 million) to developer Dana Hollister as well. He invited them to make competing bids to rent the convent before a Sept 15 hearing.


New Prince single released on Spotify

Prince released a funky new single, Stare, on Spotify on Thursday after he began pulling his music from most streaming services this month. It is among his few recordings available on Spotify. He has his music on Tidal, which is owned by Jay Z and more than a dozen other artists.


Bolshoi acid attack victim loses job

The Bolshoi Theatre will not extend the contract of its artistic director Sergei Filin, who was injured in an acid attack organised by a dancer in 2013.

Its general director Vladimir Urin said the decision was connected to internal matters.
