Cobain album of unreleased music

An album of unreleased music by Kurt Cobain will come out in November to accompany a documentary on the late Nirvana frontman, the director says.

In researching Montage Of Heck, film-maker Brett Morgen discovered more than 100 early cassettes recorded by Cobain. Fans have described the music as the equivalent of a solo album from the music legend, who killed himself in 1994 at age 27.

Morgen told the AwardsLine website that the music would come out as a soundtrack to Montage Of Heck on Nov 6, when the documentary goes on sale as a DVD.


Bieber album due out on Nov 13

Pop star Justin Bieber will release his latest album on Nov 13, streaming service Tidal tweeted. Bieber has said the first song of his fourth album, What Do You Mean?, will come out on Aug 28. He has enlisted fellow stars in a countdown on social media for its release. In one snippet, singer Ed Sheeran strums a verse on his acoustic guitar that may be from the song.


Dog from The Artist put to sleep

The adorable dog Uggie, famous for his role in the Academy Award-winning film The Artist (2011), had to be put down due to a prostate tumour last week, website TMZ reported. The Jack Russell Terrier won over audiences with his stage tricks and cute demeanour in the film alongside French actor Jean Dujardin. It was 13 years old.
