The Disney revival begs the question of whether live action is better than animation

Aladdin, showing in cinemas, is the Arabian Nights fable of an orphaned street thief coming into possession of a magic lamp. Aladdin rubs the lantern; imagine his astonishment when out comes a genie.

Imagine mine at the sight of a blue Will Smith as the giant half-naked genie with the pert topknot, pointy ears, bodybuilder biceps and ability to grant wishes.
