BEIJING - Film star Wang Baoqiang's wife sued on Tuesday (Aug 16) for an apology and the removal of his statement on Weibo, in which he accused her of cheating on him with his agent and said he would divorce her.

A Beijing court accepted the case filed by Ma Rong, 30, said NetEase website.

A day after he made the Weibo announcement, Wang, 32, filed for divorce on Monday. He is seeking custody of the couple's children, a six-year-old boy and a five-year-old girl, and asking for the division of their assets, including nine homes.

Online rumour has it that most of the homes were purchased in the name of Ma or her parents, said NetEase. Reportedly, her parents got a fake divorce and used sham marriages with Beijing residents to be allowed to buy Beijing homes.
