Electric vehicles (EVs) operate on systems of up to 800 volts and, therefore, pose some risk to workshop technicians. But I understand an internal-combustion engine’s spark plug cables carry tens of thousands of volts. Would this not be an even greater risk?

A household power supply of 13 amps and 230 volts is enough to cause serious burns or even death.
