I hope the Constitutional Commission to be set up to study changes to the Elected Presidency will consider the following suggestion ("Changes to political system to prepare S'pore for long term"; Jan 28).

Have a president and vice-president system. Each team must put forward two candidates, one of whom must be from a minority race.

They will decide who between them will run for president and who for vice-president.
