SINGAPORE – The move by Asia Pacific Breweries (APB) Singapore to retrench 33 employees here this week is part of a larger strategy to stay competitive amid high operating costs and changing consumer behaviours.

The firm, which has been in Singapore for 92 years and is now part of The Heineken Company, let the staff go on Nov 23.
