BANGKOK - For days, Ms Thuzar Myint wept in despair. Five out of six people in her household - including herself - were down with Covid-19.

She was too sick to report for work at a garment factory in Yangon, and too poor to take her elderly parents to the clinic. They were wasting away before her.
