David found the next best job after his dream of becoming a pro footballer was dashed by a knee injury, when he became a sports reporter at The New Paper in 2009. He joined The Straits Times in 2017 and the major events he has covered include the World Cup, Olympics, Asian Games, Commonwealth Games and SEA Games. Bilingual in English and Mandarin, he has co-authored two local football books and won several local and international media awards.
