(FILES) The main flag of Turkmenistan sits in front of the State museum of the State cultural centre of Turkmenistan in the capital of Ashgabat on June 28, 2023. But behind the monumental statues and the marble city of Arkadag built in Berdymukhamedov's honour, opponents and minorities are mercilessly persecuted, say Amnesty and Human Rights Watch, none more so than LGBT+ people.
