We take a serious view of any service disruptions that are caused by our contractors and we do penalise any contractor who has been found negligent in his duties ("What happens when contractors damage someone else's fibre line?" by Mr Goh Khee Kuan; Forum Online, March 28, and "Let firms consult only one engineer to fix fibre line issues" by Mr Wong Boon Hong; Forum Online, March 31).

We assure Mr Goh and Mr Wong that incidents involving the accidental bending of fibre strands are uncommon.

We are reviewing this aspect of the installation process with relevant stakeholders in order to reduce the occurrence of such incidents and service disruptions to their customers.

We apologise for the inconvenience caused to Mr Goh and Mr Wong.
