US Capitol riot a close call, sparks security concern ahead of Biden's inauguration

WASHINGTON - Security is being tightened ahead of President-elect Joe Biden's Jan 20 inauguration, as more details come to light over how close a call it was for lawmakers in last week's violent storming of the Capitol by Mr Donald Trump's supporters.

At least 10,000 National Guard troops are being deployed in Washington who may be armed with weapons, on top of the usual riot control equipment.
