LONDON - Just over a month after a devastating explosion destroyed a large chunk of the Lebanese capital and killed almost 200 people, France remains the country's most significant international sponsor.
French President Emmanuel Macron, who was the first foreign leader to visit Beirut less that 48 hours after the Aug 4 disaster, not only kept his promise to return to Lebanon for the second time in order to review progress on the ground, but recently also unveiled a French plan for Lebanon's reconstruction.
