F1 power meets its match in faster-moving pandemic

If a week is a long time in politics, in these days of the superfast-spreading coronavirus, a fortnight is, in some cases, literally a lifetime.

Two weeks ago, everyone in racing drew succour from Melbourne's gung-ho determination to run the Australian Grand Prix. It was fuelled by the typical Aussie "she'll be right, mate" philosophy. It was a racers' decision.
