SINGAPORE - Cost is a four-letter word the Government has been using rather liberally in recent times. In the public transport sphere, cost is topical year-round, but becomes more so as the annual bus and train fare revision rolls around in October.
Nothing wrong with that. The public should be reminded that all goods and services cost money, either in the form of what the end user pays or in the form of government subsidies funded by taxpayers.
