Shops in HDB estates are drawing fewer customers as residents turn to shopping online, according to findings of a survey that could have implications for the long-term survival of such shops. Online shoppers tend to be younger and live in bigger flats.
HDB residents are also interacting less with their neighbours in person, although more communication is taking place online now. Participation in community activities has also dropped.
