The Central Narcotics Bureau told The Straits Times that 126 Singaporean citizens or permanent residents were arrested in 2017 at checkpoints and airports.

SINGAPORE - The arrest of former Singapore Idol Hady Mirza, 38, at a land crossing in Singapore for drug abuse has put the spotlight on a worrying trend.
The number arrested at the various checkpoints here for drug abuse from 2013 had climbed gradually from 47 that year to 65 in 2014. In 2015, it hit 69 before reaching 78 two years ago.
