SINGAPORE - A director at a law firm, accused of causing grievous hurt to a motorcyclist by driving a car without reasonable consideration for other road users, has been granted a 12-month conditional warning.
Responding to queries from The Straits Times on April 11, the Attorney-General’s Chambers said that after carefully considering the facts and circumstances of the matter, the prosecution directed that the conditional warning be given to Mr Chan Wan Hong.
The prosecution then applied for a discharge not amounting to an acquittal in relation to the charge against him, and the court granted it on April 8.
Those given such a discharge can still be prosecuted if relevant information or evidence were to emerge later.
A search with the Accounting and Corporate Regulatory Authority on April 11 revealed that Mr Chan, 51, is a director and shareholder at FC Legal Asia.
ST had earlier reported that Mr Chan was driving along Tai Seng Avenue towards Ubi Road 2 at around 9.30am on May 13, 2024, when one of the tyres of his car allegedly rolled over a motorcyclist’s left foot.
Details about the motorcyclist’s injuries were not disclosed in court documents.
