I was enlightened on reading the geopolitical views of Mr Bilahari Kausikan (

Facing up to the realities of Trump 2.0

, March 3; and

Distinction between foreign policy of words and of deeds

, March 6) and Professor Tommy Koh (

Singapore’s foreign policy based on realism

, March 5).

Both men have represented Singapore at the UN. From their views, I learnt about the intricacies of representing Singapore in the world of diplomacy, and am relieved to know that they have balanced views, and can express them in a clear-headed and, most importantly, civil manner. This can only enhance Singapore’s reputation.
