BOHOL, Philippines – As an avid diver since 2016, I have had the good fortune of spotting species such as manta rays, batfish and the common octopus on dives in Bali and Zanzibar. But whale sharks are one sea creature I have yet to check off my bucket list.
After years of living vicariously through other divers on the internet, I decide to try to see them. In June 2024, I travel to Bohol, a province in the Philippines, in the hope of spotting one of these marine giants.
