SINGAPORE – Women are more likely to take up group classes such as pilates and yoga in Singapore, while men often stick to heavy lifting at the gym, say fitness trainers and gym owners.

Runner and gym enthusiast Howard Pargeter, for example, is more used to lifting heavy weights at the gym than standing on one leg on a yoga block to improve his balance and flexibility.
