SINGAPORE – The picture-perfect Christmas cakes from home-grown pastry cafe Patisserie Woo may well be my favourite ones in 2024.
My top pick from the range of log cakes (from $70) is the Peach & Moscato version, with chunks of white peach and moscato jelly encased in a delicate peach mousse.
It sits on a layer of sponge and a crunchy wafer base for added texture and makes the perfect not-too-sweet treat to have after a heavy meal.
Pistachio lovers can go for the Sicilian Pistachio log cake loaded with pistachio in the mousse, ganache, sponge base and lightly salted wafer base.
Other flavours include Dark Chocolate & Hazelnut and Strawberry & Vanilla Bean – a log cake version of its signature strawberry shortcake.

Cannot decide? Go for the trio of mini log cakes ($75) for three flavours – Sicilian Pistachio, Dark Chocolate & Hazelnut and Peach & Moscato.

If you are not keen on log cakes, consider the Christmas Fruit Bundt Cake ($110) – packed with dried fruit that have been spiked in rum and brandy. For a non-alcoholic option, the Cranberry & Citrus Bundt Cake ($110) is flavoured with tangy cranberries and citrus peel. Order at least two days in advance for bundt cakes.
The Berries & Vanilla Bean Tart (from $45 for a 14cm tart) is a great potluck party option, along with a tin of assorted Christmas cookies (from $15 for 14 pieces).
