Food Picks: Goodwood Park Hotel’s dreamy, creamy butter turkey for Christmas

Every year, I wait to see what new turkey emerges from the kitchens of Goodwood Park Hotel. Its turducken, salt-baked turkey, turkey satay and Hainanese poached turkey have all made it onto my dining table.
For 2024, the offering is Butter Turkey With Cranberry Cheese Naan ($68 nett, serves four to six).
I would have thought cubes of turkey breast will taste awfully dry, but they do not. The creamy, spicy sauce that goes with it works wonders. Even better, there is naan to mop up more sauce. The slightly tart cranberries in the flatbread cut the richness a bit. But isn’t richness the point of Christmas?
On my order list is the hotel’s Baked Turkey Char Siew Snow Buns ($48 nett for 10). Again, sauce stops the turkey filling from getting dry and these buns, with their crackly tops, will be perfect warmed up for breakfast on Christmas morning.
