Sentosa to undergo Wicked transformation for movie sequel’s release in November

In line with the movie sequel Wicked: For Good opening in cinemas here on Nov 20, there will be installations, interactive activities and retail offerings themed around the Hollywood musical fantasy film in Sentosa.

SINGAPORE – Get ready for Sentosa to be “changed for good” as Wicked mania hits Singapore.
In line with the movie sequel Wicked: For Good opening in cinemas here on Nov 20, there will be installations, interactive activities and retail offerings themed around the musical fantasy on the island from Nov 10 to Jan 4.
The multi-sensorial Sentosa Sensoryscape will be transformed into the iconic Yellow Brick Road from Part Two of 2024’s Wicked. American singer-actress Ariana Grande and British actress Cynthia Erivo are reprising their roles as Glinda The Good and Elphaba the Wicked Witch of the West respectively.

In its Glow Garden will float Glinda’s Bubble, one of Wicked: For Good’s most iconic motifs, inviting guests to step within and be surrounded by vibrant tulip blooms as they see the world through Glinda’s eyes.
Sensoryscape’s main walkway will feature installations offering character photo moments, and at night, the floor path will come alive with illuminated lights.

At the attraction’s Tactile Trellis, guests will find the Emerald City Express, a steampunk-inspired installation featuring exposed clockwork gears.
In the middle of Sensoryscape’s Lookout Loop, keep your eyes peeled for Elphaba’s Hat. Towering 9m high, it is a defining element of the character’s identity and a powerful symbol of transformation, individuality and rebellion.

At Resorts World Sentosa integrated resort, guests visiting its Lake of Dreams will be greeted by an Emerald City installation titled Limitless Lights: An Ozmopolitan Display of Music & Lights, which features a glittering metropolis.
At night, it transforms into a dazzling illumination that brings the world of Oz vividly to life, enhanced by music from the movie.
At Universal Studios Singapore (USS), the theme park’s Hollywood zone will be reimagined with decor inspired by the film, and will feature meet-and-greet experiences with iconic characters, such as Elphaba and Glinda costumed characters.
The Wizard will bestow guests with his words of wisdom, alongside the citizens of Oz, Emerald City guards and the Ozian guards.
The Pantages Hollywood Theatre’s exterior will have an Emerald City-inspired facade, extending this cinematic journey.
Guests visiting Resorts World Sentosa’s Lake of Dreams will be greeted by an Emerald City installation, titled Limitless Lights: An Ozmopolitan Display of Music & Lights.

In November, visitors will be able to step inside the theatre to experience an exhibition titled The Wardrobe Of Wicked: A Curated Costume Display, featuring film costume replicas and scenic recreations.
Iconic visuals inspired by the film, such as Glinda’s quarters, Elphaba’s Broom at Kiamo Ko, Madame Morrible’s dress and The Wizard’s control panel will also be on display.
At USS, guests can buy exclusive merchandise, such as themed collectibles, as well as apparel and accessories inspired by the film’s characters and scenes.
In addition, a spread of food and beverage offerings will be available in green and pink hues, a nod to Elphaba and Glinda respectively.

On Nov 13, Wicked’s leads Grande and Erivo, cast members like Malaysian actress Michelle Yeoh and American actor Jeff Goldblum, and American director Jon M. Chu are slated to grace Wicked: For Good’s Asia-Pacific premiere at USS.
The evening will feature a handprint ceremony and culminate in the screening at Pantages Hollywood Theatre.
