Yan Liang is deputy news editor at The Straits Times. He joined the newsroom in 2011 and was at the political desk before a three-year stint as China correspondent at the paper’s Beijing bureau. He currently oversees coverage of the political, community, education and defence sectors. When not working with words, he enjoys getting into a good book.
