Indonesian woman dies a month after JB bus accident in January

JOHOR BAHRU – A 52-year-old Indonesian woman died from her injuries after being involved in a road accident in Jalan Johor Bahru-Air Hitam in Malaysia.
Johor Bahru North police chief Balveer Singh said that the accident occurred on Jan 24 at 9.10pm and involved a public bus. It resulted in one fatality.
“According to preliminary investigations, the 26-year-old local bus driver, en route from Skudai to Johor Bahru, reportedly felt dizzy and lost consciousness while driving, causing him to lose control of the vehicle, which then crashed into the tunnel wall at KM10.
“The bus was carrying five passengers – including a 38-year-old man, two foreign nationals (a 44-year-old Singaporean man and a 52-year-old Indonesian woman), and two local passengers aged 26 and 31 years old,” Assistant Commissioner Singh said in a statement on Feb 22.
He added that the driver and passengers sustained various injuries, including head trauma, right eye injuries, right arm fractures and general body pain.
“All victims were transported to Sultanah Aminah Hospital, Johor Bahru, for treatment.
“On Feb 21, at 8.50pm, the son of the injured Indonesian woman lodged a police report confirming that his mother had succumbed to her injuries while receiving treatment at the hospital,” he added.
