Missing 12-year-old Malaysian girl found safe; six suspected kidnappers detained

KLANG - A 12-year-old Malaysian girl who was reported missing on Oct 8 after she went to retrieve food from a car parked at her flat in Bandar Bukit Tinggi has been found safe.
Six individuals, including two women, have been detained in connection with her alleged kidnapping.
South Klang’s police chief, Assistant Commissioner Cha Hoong Fong, said the victim was found at about 2.30pm on Oct 12.
“Investigation showed that the victim was believed to have been kidnapped,” he said in a statement on Oct 13.
AC Cha said further intelligence obtained led to several raids in Segambut Dalam, Setia Alam and Pandamaran on Oct 12.
“Four men and two women, aged 13 to 23, were detained in the raids,” he said. “We also seized the car used by the suspects to kidnap the victim.”
He added that one of the suspects had a prior criminal record.
“All suspects have been remanded,” he said.
AC Cha said his team received a report on the missing girl at 8.59pm on Oct 8. He said preliminary investigations revealed that the girl went to the parking area after her mother asked her to fetch food from the car at around 2.20pm.
“The girl went down alone and did not return home. At 3pm, the victim’s mother began searching for her but could not find her,” he said. THE STAR/ASIA NEWS NETWORK
