HONG KONG - The formation of trade unions in the last few months by those opposed to the administration of Chief Executive Carrie Lam has given rise to fears that pro-establishment candidates may receive a drubbing in Legislative Council (LegCo) elections due in September.
The poll for the city's parliament will be a closely watched affair following the landslide victory of the vocal and largely anti-establishment pan-democrats in the district council election in November last year.
